Review and Publication Policy

"Al-Urooj Research Journal" (ARJ) follows a plagiarism policy as per HEC guidelines. The percentage of similarity for every submission as per the Turnitin Report must be less than 19%. The authors should ensure that their works are entirely original Articles sent for publication in "Al-Urooj Research Journal" (ARJ) go through an initial editorial screening followed by a double-blind peer review.

  1. All submitted papers will be reviewed by external reviewers based on their expertise in the relevant field.

  2. Reviewers are selected by the Editorial Board of the Journal from outside the organization of the journal on the basis of their expertise in the relevant field.

  3. The whole process from paper submission to publication will take a time period of approximately 6 to 20 weeks.

  4. After the publication of the article, it can not be withdrawn by the author in any case and the publication fee could not be refunded too, the article can only be withdrawn before the publication with penalty charges of PKR 5,000 /article.

  5. It must be noted that once an article has been submitted by an author and processed for review, the processing fee will not be refunded.

Duties and responsibilities of reviewers

Contribution to editorial decisions

Peer review assists the editor in making editorial decisions and through the editorial communications with the author may also assist the author in improving the paper. Peer review is an essential component of formal scholarly communication. Authors who wish to contribute to publications have an obligation to do a fair share of reviewing.

Promptness

Any selected referee who feels unqualified to review the research reported in a manuscript or knows that its prompt review will be impossible should notify the editor and excuse himself from the review process.

Confidentiality

Any manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents. They must not be shown to or discussed with others except as authorized by the editor.

Standards of objectivity

Reviews should be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate. Referees should express their views clearly with supporting arguments.
